Oils and greases are used in a large number of metal working operations. These have to be completely removed before the parts can undergo processes such as coating or varnishing. In certain cases, volatile oils can be removed directly using hot air. Nevertheless, water-based washing processes are frequently used for degreasing purposes. The residual water that is left behind is reliably removed by blowing it off the components and then drying them with hot air.
Another application from the metal working industry is the preheating of metal parts with a view to speeding up downstream processes and minimizing deformation.
